Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2)

January and September intakes!

Pending CPCAB Approval

This qualification is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles.

This qualification is for:

Those starting the first level of training as a professional counsellor
Those who want to learn counselling skills in other professional or helping roles
Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development
Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development

No previous training or experience is required to undertake this qualification.

Minimum age 18 yrs.

Guided Learning Hours 90.

Progression to Lever 3 Counselling Studies available on completion.

Cost £750 (Funding may be available for those eligible).

Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CST-L3)

January and September intakes

Pending CPCAB Approval

This qualification is intended for candidates who have already acquired a recognised qualification in counselling skills and want to:

take the next step in training to become a counsellor
learn more about counselling theory, ethics and mental health
be prepared for work as a professional counsellor in an agency setting

This qualification will enable successful candidates to work as skilled supporters within a range of job and career opportunities.

Some previous training or experience is required to undertake this qualification.

Minimum age 19 yrs.

Guided Learning Hours 90.

Progression to Lever 4 Diploma is available on completion.

Cost £1200 (Funding may be available for those eligible).

BACP Approved Level 4 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (TC-L4)

January and September intakes

Dual qualification as an adult and child counsellor
Registration as a qualified counsellor with the BACP on successful completion
The Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling – BACP Approved Practitioner qualification is approved by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and is awarded and certificated by the CPCAB
This two year part-time qualification gives learners the knowledge, skills and competencies to work as a therapeutic counsellor

Some previous training or experience is required to undertake this qualification. We offer a recognition or prior learning scheme for equivalent qualifications and experience.

Minimum age 19 yrs.

Guided Learning Hours 420.

Progression to Lever 5 Diploma is available on completion.

Cost £3750 per year (Funding may be available for those eligible).

Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People (CYP-L5)

April and September intakes!

This post qualifying qualification is designed to give learners the specialist knowledge, skills and competences to work as counsellors with children and young people.

This qualification will enable successful candidates to work as counsellors with this age group in a range of job and career opportunities, which include but are not limited to:

A counsellor employed by a School or College
A counsellor in an agency or organisation which specialise in counselling children and young people
A private counsellor working for an external organisation such as a school, youth club, wellness/mental health setting
An ‘adult’ counsellor in independent practice wishing to extend their work to cover this age range
A youth worker in the community
An outreach worker with adolescents/teenagers

You must have obtained our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or its equivalent or meet our recognition of prior learning criteria.

Minimum age 19 yrs.

Guided Learning Hours 120.

Cost £1800 (Funding may be available for those eligible).

About Therapy North Training

Therapy North holds BACP Organisational Membership and our training team is led by BACP Registered Therapists who are also fully qualified Teachers. Some of our qualifications may be eligible for funding.

The qualifications can be done individually or as part of a progression route of consecutive qualifications designed to guide individuals, with no previous experience, toward meeting the criteria needed to join the UK’s leading counselling professional membership associations and begin working with clients. Becoming a member of one of the counselling professional membership associations, that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), indicates to prospective clients that the counsellor has the appropriate training and skills required.
