Therapist

I offer psychotherapeutic counselling in a calm, supportive space where you can talk about what is happening in your life, at your own pace. At the heart of my practice is a genuine curiosity about people, the experiences that have shaped them, and the hopes and reasons that bring them to therapy. I believe that every person has inherent worth, and that this can be a foundation for healing and personal development. I am an empathetic practitioner who values offering steady support, and the importance of metaphorically holding others while they develop the capacity to hold themselves.

Before training as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I spent many years as a stay-at-home mum, valuing the experience of being present with my children and witnessing their growth and development over time. This period of my life continues to inform my practice, shaping my appreciation for relationships, attunement, and the importance of being alongside another person as they change and find their own way.

I see the therapeutic space as a supportive sanctuary where we can reflect on your story and explore new possibilities together. Counselling can help you make sense of your experiences, process what you are going through, develop coping strategies, and reconnect with your strengths and sense of hope. I also hold a belief in the restorative value of nature and time spent outdoors. My personal connection with the mountains, and my belief in the gentle healing effect of sunshine, inform my understanding of emotional wellbeing. In the future, I hope to work towards offering opportunities for therapy to take place outdoors, allowing others to experience the healing potential of being in nature.

My practice is relational and compassionate, drawing on a range of therapeutic traditions while always respecting the uniqueness of each individual. For me, counselling is not only about easing difficulty, but about supporting people to reconnect with themselves, rediscover wholeness, and find new ways forward. I am a registered member of the BACP and I work in accordance with the BACP codes of ethical practice.
