Sarah Smith
I’m a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have eight years of experience supporting university students (at Leicester and Durham University) as well as adults in my private practice.
My approach is integrated and holistic, grounded particularly in existential and psychodynamic traditions. I work with the whole person — mind and body — and I’m attentive to the social, cultural, and environmental contexts that shape our experiences.
At the heart of my work is a deep curiosity about what it means to be human. I offer an inclusive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your concerns openly, deepen your understanding of yourself, and move towards greater freedom, authenticity, and conscious living. Rather than offering quick solutions, I see therapy as a shared dialogue — an opportunity to reflect on life’s inevitable challenges: anxiety, change, identity, purpose, relationships, and the search for meaning.
In addition to my psychotherapy training at Regent’s University London, I am also a trauma-informed yoga teacher specialising in yoga for anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am committed to ongoing personal and professional development, ensuring that my practice continues to evolve.
